denton good times. :)
Hey, hi, hello.
I went to a show on Wednesday. I saw some local bands, Two Knights and Special Guest. And some touring bands, Football etc, Tiny Moving Parts, and Modern Baseball.
Truthfully I was super stoked for Modern Baseball. Beyond stoked honestly. The photo above is pretty much the only actual "photo" I took and it was during Modern Baseball. This is one of my very old point and shoot cameras, so the quality isn't great. Oh well.
Afterwards I was at the merch table and I got to meet two of the guys from Modern Baseball! :) It was amazing. I love shows like this.
Here is a video of the night I made on that shitty point and shoot camera. I hope ya'll enjoy it. The song playing is a Modern Baseball song, so if yall haven't heard them, I hope you enjoy it as well.
ALSO, by the way, I may start making video two days a week now, because I was recently contacted by YouTube on being a partner. I'm still talking to them and somewhat to my parents as well. I'll keep ya'll updated on that. :) Let me know if you like my videos and stuff.

Shows, shows, shows.
And holy shit, did I mention shows? Hahah.
Hey ya'll. I've been so dang ass busy working shows, playing shows, being at shows, it's been wild lately. I worked every show last month, played two. And same goes for this month. I thought I'd just do a huge photo post of people at shows. :)
ALSO: here is the summer#3 video:
This last one is probably my favorite photo.. I love all of them so much, they're the best friends ever. (:
Sorry about the lack of posts, I'll work on that. <3 p="">

5 Things: SUMMER EDITION.
Hey ya'll :)
I've made these "five things" post for most seasons already, but I thought it'd be kind of cool to do this "summer edition" with a bit of a twist.
FIVE THINGS I'M UP TO THIS SUMMER:
1. READING! I've been keeping track of all the books I've been reading in a draft on here, with mini reviews as well. I'll post it once the summer is up.
2. Hanging out with my friends every chance I get. :)
3. Stressing over what I'm going to take in the Fall. I know that's a really nerdy thing to say, but ugh, I am. I've been constructing my "preferred list" for a few months now. ugh.
4. Working shows at 1919. I will say the best one this month was the Pity Sex//The World is...//Cat People//Two Knights//Dads show. It kicked ass.
5. ALSO, playing shows!
And here's where the twist comes in!
FIVE THINGS I MISS ABOUT LAST SUMMER:
1. How much more relaxed I was! I don't know why, but this summer has been a huge stressful ball of fucking stress. I guess this comes along with growing up and having more responsibilities.
2. The fact that I wasn't completely broke. (Yeah, little known fact to my internet frandz, but I am completely and utterly so broke. I am lucky I still live with my parents.)
3. My brother coming to visit! That made last Summer amazing, and I'm sad he's not coming this summer.
4. How much I got together with my old friends from high school. So far we haven't planned a get together this summer, which kinda sucks. I've seen some of them separately, but I hope we all get together sometime before this summer is over..
5. ALSO, my hair. Early on in summer I had this pink dip dye hair, before I did the blonde stuff in the photo above. I don't miss my undercut, but I miss this coloring:
It'd be cool if some of ya'll did this post too, if you do you should totally tell me! I'd love to read each of your five things.

Snippets Sunday #14
Hey yall. :)
First thing I'd like to say is, HAPPY FATHERS DAY to my awesome, amazing, wonderful, dad, Tom.
Last night I went to a ska show at the venue I work at. It was pretty kickass, truthfully. These are the bands that played, ya'll should totally check them out cos they're all local to the DFW:
The Buzzkills (this was the only punk band on the show, they're friends of mine, and have really grown as musicians in the past couple months. I'm super proud, so check out their stuff, pls.)
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Buzzkills/185871108225620?fref=ts
I'm Clark Kent
(totally a ska band, if you couldn't tell by the name, haha. I met their drummer Nick awhile back.. he was just this goofy kid who always came out to the Not Half Bad shows.
Finally one day I sat down and really talked to him and found out he was in a ska band and they hadn't played a ton of shows..so I was stoked when they got on this show. Unfortunately they don't have a Facebook.. whenever they do I'll definitely let ya'll know. They're all 16-17 year olds from Aledo, TX.. and they're adorable.. I'll insert a photo. ALSO, last night they covered a Brand New song and it was awesome.)
The Wife and Kids. (these fuckers are something else.. seriously. I'm not a huge listener of ska music, truthfully. Not for any bad reasoning or anything, just for the simple fact that I haven't listened to a lot of ska music. But, I actually dug these guys, even though they were dorky and cheesy.. it was still pretty cool. Sooo, check em outttt.)

Snippets Sunday #9
Hey ya'll. Happy Sunday. :) This is super late because of how crazy my Friday and Saturday were, haha. So, here's a story:
Friday night: Erik and Ali called me telling me about a house show in Denton. Honestly the first thing I thought of was Dave's. But then I get the invite on Facebook and it's totally definitely not there, so I am skeptical as hell about it. Anyhow, they tell me they're already on their way, so I should call Torry because he hadn't left yet. I call Torry, he's stoked to have someone make the drive with him. He picks me up around 10, and his band The Nitch Pickens were on the set list to play around 11pm or 11:30pm. Denton is like a 30 minute drive, depending on traffic. The problem we had was that Torry and I are BOTH THE WORST WITH DIRECTIONS. So, we take the wrong exit because Torry is gungho set on the fact that it must be a different exit since it's not at Dave's house. He calls a few people once we've drifted through like five neighborhoods not resembling the makings of a house show in sight. No one can give him decent directions until one person mentions it's the same exit you take for Dave's. Sooooo, long "we're lost" story short, we get back on the highway, take the right exit. We're literally a block away, it is 11 on the dot pm, when I get a phone call from Ali. I answer and she says, "wherever you are, don't come to the house yet, it just got busted by the police." I tell Torry, we make a right, park the car, and Torry gets on the phone with Chris (the host). Torry basically just gives him advice on how to handle the cop, and literally five minutes later the cop was gone. Only issue was, no more music. So, the Nitch Pickens and Cat People and another band I can't remember the name of, all didn't get to play the show. It was bummer. But, we went for food, and talked a lot. Torry dropped me off at my place around 5AM.
Saturday night: Granted I was still sleepy from the previous night, I woke up around 1 in the afternoon. Erik got to my house at about 6pm to pick me up because we were on schedule to work the 420 show at 1919. We walked around the Fort Worth Arts Festival for a little while waiting for Stephen to get off work. Then finally made it over to 1919. Fiending Flesh, Mountains of Smoke, Collick, Bitch Teeth, Spacebeach, & Elesh Norn, all played. It was a really good show. I had a pretty bad headache by the end though. Then there was an after party at pizzahaus next door. It was a hip hop show. DarkCloud went on first, which I'm really glad Torry gave that kid the opportunity. He flows so fucking clean, I swear. Then there was supposed to be some other artists, but we ended up having to cut the night short just cos residents and tech difficulties. But anyhow, last people to go on were Black Problems. And damn, when I say they tore it up, they seriously tore that shit up. It was amazing. I love those guys. Anyhow, I got home around 5:45AM. And I slept all of my Sunday away, haha.
I think I've posted this before, but I made a music video for Black Problems. But, here's the link if you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiUi4zaNx6g

- Brave by Our Lady.
A punk band from Illinois. I met them in January when they came through Fort Worth. You can locate this song here: http://honestempirerecords.com/track/brave - To Mom, Cathy & the Impending Argument by Not Half Bad
A taco influenced punk band that I became friends with a few semesters ago in college. This is off their new album Good People, which you should check out:
http://nothalfbad.bandcamp.com/album/good-people - 6 Signs You've Made it to the Middle Class/Song Bomb by spacebeach.
My friend Torry Finley's band. They're based in Fort Worth, totally stoner rock to the max. You can listen to this here:
http://spacebeach.bandcamp.com/album/the-dead-sea-ep - Never Get to Know by Paul Baribeau
I first heard this song as someone else covering it. A guy I met at an open mic named Dogi covered it on guitar and I fell in love. I went home & listened to the original, and fell even more in love if that's possible.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzTlt5tTjPc - Moving Mountains by Gospel and the Wolf.
I met Rey of Gospel and the Wolf a few months ago when he was touring and came through Fort Worth. He's a kickass folk singer from Austin, TX. You can listen to this song here: https://www.facebook.com/gospelandthewolf/app_178091127385 - A Little Bit on your Mind by Sam Hart.
I found this song over the summer, but I recently fell back in love with it. Sam Hart has a beautiful voice and this song gives me a lot of feels: http://blinktwice4y.bandcamp.com/track/little-bit-on-your-mind - Seattle by Jeffrey Lewis
My best friend, Erik, showed me this song a few months ago. I love Jeffrey Lewis' voice and how simple his songs are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE-D89NySIg - Bangarang! by Two Knights.
This was the first local band I ever saw. I love them and I love this song: http://twoknights.bandcamp.com/ - Let Me Down Easy by Warren Franklin.
I LOVE WARREN FRANKLIN. He has a beautiful easily melodic voice, and I'm bummed that I've never gotten to see him live before. Ugh.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxmniKXIpY4 - Comatose by Atomic TanLines.
I saw them live for the first time last night in Denton and it was literally one of the best shows I've been to.. they are garage as fuck. TXFILTH HERE: https://www.facebook.com/theatomictanlines/app_2405167945
I hope ya'll found something you like here!

A non-beauty related post:
I do have some beauty posts queued and things that need to be finalized. I've just been really stressed out with college and midterms.. all that junk, y'know. So, I haven't been able to really focus on reviewing and getting all my posts done up nicely. My bad.
But, I had a good night last night at a local venue called 1919. I've been around there a bit with Erik and Stephen.. They started taking me like my very first semester of college.. and it is now my second year of college.
I really like Two Knights. If any of you follow my regular blog, accidentalmusic.tumblr.com, then you probably know that. I totally had words with Parker of Two Knights last night. It was beyond cool.
After the shows, Erik and I went over to Stephen's house to tell him about how he missed Big Fiction covering a Nirvana song and all around being kickass.
Here's some photos:
Good times, good music.
