Going away parties, back to school, mostly a lot of feelings in one post.

Hey. Hi. Hello.

I went back to school on August 26th, and y'know, no matter the fact that I've spent the bulk of my life "going back to school," it's always, and I mean always, a weird sensation.

I've come to realize that I genuinely enjoy having a routine. I love feeling balanced, and hell, I even love homework. So, though the first week was rocky, the second week went smoothly. I'm officially back in the swing of it, I think.

A few weeks before back to school, I went to a going away party for my friend Louis. He's moving away to university, (legit like 30 minutes away but I'm not going to disclose his information by saying where). Here's a video I made of that night, I think it's nifty and fun.

I really love my friends, and though it was sad to see Louis go, and everything, I know it is for the best. We all have to get ready to go out and do "better" things in "better" places. (Even if we fall on our asses.)

I recently decided on where I will be transferring to next Fall, and it was one of the biggest and easiest decisions I've made in a long time. I'm stoked on finishing out this year at my CC. But, I'm also super stoked to go on to university and grow with my two majors.

On the list of unstoked things is having to have a party like this. This was an amazing party as someone who wasn't leaving. But, Louis cried a lot throughout the whole night. It's going to be hard to do that with everyone again. However, I, like Louis, am only going to be going about 30-35 minutes away as well. So, it's not the END of the world. It's just the end of a familiar city, I guess.

Hey ya'll. I've been so dang ass busy working shows, playing shows, being at shows, it's been wild lately. I worked every show last month, played two. And same goes for this month. I thought I'd just do a huge photo post of people at shows. :)

5 Things: SUMMER EDITION.

Hey ya'll :)

I've made these "five things" post for most seasons already, but I thought it'd be kind of cool to do this "summer edition" with a bit of a twist.

FIVE THINGS I'M UP TO THIS SUMMER:

1. READING! I've been keeping track of all the books I've been reading in a draft on here, with mini reviews as well. I'll post it once the summer is up.

2. Hanging out with my friends every chance I get. :)

3. Stressing over what I'm going to take in the Fall. I know that's a really nerdy thing to say, but ugh, I am. I've been constructing my "preferred list" for a few months now. ugh.

4. Working shows at 1919. I will say the best one this month was the Pity Sex//The World is...//Cat People//Two Knights//Dads show. It kicked ass.

5. ALSO, playing shows!

FIVE THINGS I MISS ABOUT LAST SUMMER:

1. How much more relaxed I was! I don't know why, but this summer has been a huge stressful ball of fucking stress. I guess this comes along with growing up and having more responsibilities.

2. The fact that I wasn't completely broke. (Yeah, little known fact to my internet frandz, but I am completely and utterly so broke. I am lucky I still live with my parents.)

3. My brother coming to visit! That made last Summer amazing, and I'm sad he's not coming this summer.

4. How much I got together with my old friends from high school. So far we haven't planned a get together this summer, which kinda sucks. I've seen some of them separately, but I hope we all get together sometime before this summer is over..

5. ALSO, my hair. Early on in summer I had this pink dip dye hair, before I did the blonde stuff in the photo above. I don't miss my undercut, but I miss this coloring:

ALSO, just a quick update. My Sony DSLR is in the shop. It's been out of use for a few weeks now which really sucks. I was doing a really awesome photoshoot of some of my friends, when the wind came out of nowhere and knocked my tripod over. It cracked the LCD screen completely, and knocked loose a part inside my kit lens. So, that's why I've been making these shitty cellphone videos. And that's why I haven't had any really nice quality posts lately. It's going to take awhile, so I've been brainstorming ways around this to keep the content going and I've finally planned out some posts that are do-able. Sorry I've been gone the past week. I love ya'll. :)

   It's so silly and fangirl.. but I seriously just admire Rachel Whitehurst to the millionth degree. She's a bigger girl, therefore more relateable to me on a fashion level. On a beauty level, I really love Kristee or Victoria Donelda.
   
10. The best and worst part about running a blog?
    I run six very different blogs, but some of them are just seasonal which kicks ass.. and some of them are just photo blogs which are easier. I think the hardest thing about running a blog, or the worst, is TIME. Sometimes I feel like there's just literally not enough time in the day. And sometimes I feel like a jerk for having friends over and being on my laptop queuing posts and stuff. But, the best part is that I love everything I do.. and my friends actually really like my blogs as well which is awesome.

Snippets Sunday #12

Hey ya'll! Happy Sunday. Today has been super chill.. like I mentioned a few posts back I'm on summer vacation right now, and it's so great. Haha. Which also means I have gotten really caught up on posts and what's going on with my blog. So, I feel awesome about that. I went to a house show last night, and took a few photos to use for when I decide to make a House Show Etiquette post for the concert mini series.

Other than all that! Today went a little like this:

I watched The Craft for like the third time in a row, haha. You know how when you put something in your DVD player, and you just never take it out cos you're too lazy, so you just keep watching it? That's what's going on with me right now. Haha

ALSO, I cleaned my room a week or two ago, and so today I worked on trying to film a Room Tour finally. So, hopefully I'll finish that up and have it post sometime this week. (:

non-beauty related post, #2

I swear normal posting will resume once I take my last midterm this week. College is stressful this time of the year. Maybe I'll do a college-y post about how I get prepared for midterms or something to that effect. Hahah.

The other night I went to dinner with my friend Erik at Waffle House like always. We were doodling on the napkins while we waited for our food, when Erik popped his head up and said, "you want to paint?" I didn't quite comprehend, so he further went on to say, "like.. you and I? collaborate. let's paint together. seriously." So, after we got our food, ate, talked, we stopped by my place, I grabbed my tackle box of art supplies, and my ukulele for good tune-age, and we went over to his place.

Erik did the background with oil paint and watercolor.
And I did the female body.. I based it off another drawing I'd done in one of my sketchbooks. It is green paint, and then charcoal built up a pretty ridiculous amount. It turned out pretty awesome, I think.

Snippets Sunday.

Last night I got my tattoo touched up. And then got dinner with my bestfriend Jasmine, and planned a Halloween-y movie night sometime soon.

I need to make my bed.

I need to study for my first Philosophy exam. It is on Thursday and I'm really nervous.

I really need to clean up my hectic desk/vanity.

ALSO, I still need to name my newest baby rat. Any suggestions?

Thus far I've had a pretty relaxing Sunday. Also, I'm sorry these were all taken with my cellphone because I haven't charged my Sony lately, like an idiot. The first photo of my So it Goes tattoo was taken with my Sony, though. Haha.

Annnnd, instead of cleaning and studying... I am watching the new episodes of Jane by Design.

I got some new Organic Morning Blend coffee. It is amazing! I have it in my September Favorites videos, so you'll see it then. ;p

 Haha. Last Black Friday I was at Target gettin' my Black Friday on. I found a package that advertised a mini HP Lego Set. You got Harry and a potions shelf. I bought it. I love Harry Potter, and I really had a good time putting the mini set together. I have it on a shelf in my room on display. A couple days later I went back to Target to see if there were other kinds available. Nothing. I was disappointed but figured as much. I looked on Amazon where I found not only huge sets but an xbox360 Lego HP game. It was cheaper than any of the sets on there, so I purchased it. I play it all the dang time. I will happily purchase Years 5-7 sometime before this year is out, I swear. 

On another Lego note, my boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday early before school started. He got me Pizza Hut for lunch, a really pretty card, and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean. He's the sweetest. I really like the game as well. I guess I just have a thing for Lego stuff. :)

The honest truth on how my birthday will play out is my parents are taking me to dinner, (food is awesome!), and depending on if I decide to get myself the Instax 210, there will be my present. Which I really am leaning towards. I do not expect anything from them except a dinner and probably a cake. They're awesome people and I appreciate all the little and big things they do for me everyday. That's enough. I just wanted to make a snazzy birthday wishlist because they're fun. It's like circling a million things in the Christmas catalogs my Mom used to get when I was 7 years old. I circled a million things but when it actually came to the day and not one of the things was there I never even noticed because I was so happy with what I got instead.
